Introducing our Community & Conversation Neighborhood Groups

The main goal with DC Area Moms Blog is to help moms connect with one another in meaningful ways. If you are new to the area or have been here a while, we all need community–and some of us need it fast! No one should mother alone–we need one another to survive and thrive in motherhood. With this being a passion of ours, we are excited to launch our Neighborhood Community and Conversation Groups. Join us!

The Washington, DC Metropolitan area is large and these niche neighborhood groups are meant to make it seem a little bit smaller. With our Community & Conversation groups, you can ask questions, set-up playdates, mommy meet ups, MNO, or simply learn more about your specific neighborhood.  Whether you’re a new mom, new to the city, or just want to meet new friends, this is a wonderful way to connect with moms in your area.

Don’t see your neighborhood? We’re just starting this program so please let us know so we can get your area covered. Just click on your neighborhood and ask to join the group!

We are so grateful for the dads in our lives, so we have created a group just for them to connect, set up playdates, meet ups, and guys nights out. There are several SAHM dads in our area too. We hope you find community that we all need in this space.

Courtney was born and raised in Louisiana where she met her husband (married in 2005). Since then they have moved several times, but finally feel very settled in NW DC after moving back a little over two years ago. She has four energetic kids: Cormac (2010), Evangeline (2013), and Solomon (2016), and Antoinette (2019). She thinks motherhood is absolutely wonderful, but she is constantly challenged and stretched in ways she couldn't have imagined. She spends her days talking Star Wars, legos, playing dress-up, and chasing her toddler. We all know motherhood is challenging so she wanted to band together with other mothers to start this site to inspire, learn, and grow together. She loves morning coffee, chocolate, chatting with people since she's an extrovert, a clean house (which is rare these days). She dislikes when her kids don't listen the first time, she abhors littering, and doesn't enjoy shopping.
