Prenatal Yoga is designed especially for the expecting mother. This form of yoga is tailored to meet the ever-changing needs of women in all stages of pregnancy. Denesia D. Rodgers, a registered yoga teacher, offers Prenatal Yoga (virtually) through Yoga District weekly on Mondays at 7:15 PM. The class will feature breathing techniques, opening the hips, pelvic floor exercises, guided meditation, improved circulation, preparing the body for birth, and an extended savasana (resting pose). Practicing Yoga during pregnancy can also alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy, such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain, and sciatica. This class is appropriate for all experience levels.
