City-State Brewing Co.’s, Kids, Eggs & Kegs kicks off this weekend, giving families the perfect place to toast the dads in their lives. The family-focused event includes food trucks — Kam and 46 will be on hand this weekend with a special breakfast menu — games and toys plus tasty non-alcoholic beverages. Kids, Eggs & Kegs will be held every Saturday and Sunday, starting at 10 a.m. at the brewery at 705 Edgewood St NE, Washington, D.C.
While City-State is always family-friendly, Kids, Eggs & Kegs is specifically tailored to families with young children. Options for kids include: board games, arcade games, sidewalk chalk, toys for toddlers, DC-themed coloring pages, free Goldfish snacks and tasty non-alcoholic beverages, including $1 juice boxes, house-made mint tea and house-made club soda, perfect for a Shirley Temple. City-State has changing tables in the restrooms.
The DC-centric brewery opened in early June and celebrates the District of Columbia in every way, from the beer, named after defining traits and historic moments like 8 Wards Independent Pale Ale and Lost Laws Pilsner, to the location, accessible by metro and the Metropolitan Branch Trail. The space includes an exhibit wall dedicated to the area’s culture and history, including 45 posters depicting DC neighborhoods by local artist Anthony Dihle.
